The packaging specialist from Hofheim near Frankfurt has completely repositioned itself over the past few months. With an enlarged team, customer proximity is to be raised to a new level and new markets opened up.
DIENST supplies 32 different countries internationally, with a focus on the European market. In the future, other regions are also to be addressed more intensively. With Frigyes Borbély, a new Head of Sales was appointed at the beginning of the year. DIENST has now completed its enlarged sales team and distributed regional responsibilities.
The region of Northern Germany and the CIS countries are looked after by Arnold Lackmann. Adrian Rafi takes over southern Germany, Austria and Switzerland and Abderrahim Bouizloufa is responsible for France, Benelux, North Africa and the Middle East. In addition to the sales management, Borbély will take care of the development of new international markets. The first successes were already evident at the FACHPACK trade fair in Nuremberg, where the dynamic team appeared as one group for the first time.
Symbioses with parent company POLAR Mohr
The now completed integration of the company on the premises of the Hofheim-based cutting machine supplier POLAR Mohr also brings a further upswing. After the takeover in 2010, the move took place in spring 2020. Now symbioses are to be created: "We focus on various market applications, i.e. end products that can be processed with a complete solution by the POLAR Group," says Borbély.
DIENST packsystems GmbH was founded in 1988 and has been part of the POLAR-Mohr group since the end of 2011. In its 33-year history, the company has developed into an internationally recognized integration partner for packaging lines in the food and non-food sector. With the four production areas Side Load, Top Load, End of Line and special solutions with customizing, the company automates almost all processes in packaging technology.

Starting in a garage, DIENST Packsystems has now established itself as the leading manufacturer of packaging machines.
Gelling and crumble machines, conveyor technology, freezer inlets and outlets – the company "Sondermaschinen Dienst" was founded on October 11th, 1988 with the manufacture of machines for the production of baked goods. Back then, Walter Dienst and a locksmith started out in a rented hall, no bigger than a garage. His wife Sigrid "Siggi" helped with the orders and preparation of offers. This 3-person company has now grown into a successful company that employs more than 100 people.
In 1990 a customer added a new packaging line to its production. Dienst also receives the order to bring three old cartoners up to date. It is the starting shot for the construction of its own packaging machines. The next big step followed in summer of 1991 with the topping-out ceremony in Hochheim. The new conveyor was a huge success at the beginning of the 90s, with up to 100 products per minute, delivering incredibly fast packaging performance. Today Dienst packs pizzas, powdered milk and many other food and non-food products.
Relocation to Hofheim near Frankfurt Dienst has been part of the POLAR Group in Hofheim near Frankfurt since 2011. The factory hall in Hochheim became too small, the rental contract for the extra hall also expired, so the joint management decided to move to the POLAR-Mohr factory premises. Plant 20 starts operations in 2019. Moving to Hofheim was an important step for DIENST in order to continue growing and positioning itself internationally.
33 years is not a typical number for an anniversary. It is in fact particularly important because the entire POLAR Group, to which Dienst now belongs, can celebrate anniversaries: 115 years of POLAR Mohr, 15 years of PPM in China and 33 for DIENST.

FACHPACK in Nuremberg will take place from September 28th to 30th. A great opportunity to present products live again and to make contacts. The packaging specialist DIENST from Hofheim, Germany is also exhibiting again.
For more than 40 years, FACHPACKin Nuremberg has been established as the leading trade fair for packaging industry. After a long break, DIENST Packsystems is looking forward to exhibiting live in Nuremberg. Object of interest is the standard cartoner P³, wich stands for Performance Power for your pizza – although the horizontal cartoner packs all other dimensionally stable products quickly and easily, too. With high flexibility in the format range and a cycle rate of 160 products per minute, the machine is a real all-round talent. A big advantage is the short delivery time: In general, the machine can be delivered to the customer and assembled within just four months.
So far, the P³ has been a great success: "In addition to the clear advantage of fast delivery, follow-up orders prove the high quality of product, service and customer confidence," says Frigyes Borbély, Head of Sales at DIENST. "We are very pleased that we were able to develop and implement individual solutions and extensions for many customers". The system can be experienced live and in action in Hall 1 at Booth 212.
Specialist for individual solutions
DIENST Packsystems has been part of the POLAR Group for over 10 years. Based in the Hofheim plant near Frankfurt since 2020, the company designs, develops and implements efficient, high-quality and individual packaging solutions for manufacturers from various consumer sectors. With customer-specific solutions, also for entire packaging lines, DIENST is a recognized partner of leading international producers and large corporations.
On Thursday 27 May 2021, DIENST Packsystems, together with Sitma and Lorenz Pan, will present a holistic packaging solution - from foil-wrapping the product, to packing it in a pre-folded carton box, to stacking it on pallets to be ready for dispatch.
In the free webinar, experts from these three companies explain what is important in an efficient packaging process. The packaging solution focuses on the frozen pizza as an example.
The event will take place on May 27th from 14:00 to 14:30 CEST.
As part of the comprehensive packaging solution, Frigyes Borbély presents the DIENST standard cartoner P3. It features technology that has been proven over many years and enables an output of 160 pizza products per minute.

The horizontal cartoner replaces the plastic blister packaging and automates the processes of erecting, filling and closing.
DIENST Verpackungstechnik from Hofheim am Taunus manufactures components and systems for the automatic packaging of food and non-food products.
Cardboard packaging instead of plastic blister packaging For consumers, it is no longer just the quality or price of a product that counts. Sustainability has also established itself as an important factor in the non-food sector. VARTA and DIENST have recognized this high priority of consumers.
VARTA wanted to replace plastic blister packaging with a sustainable alternative. DIENST was therefore commissioned to develop a solution for the pure cardboard packaging of VARTA batteries. The solution is a horizontal cartoner from DIENST. The horizontal cartoner automates the processes of erecting, filling and sealing.
The problem was a real challenge. Because there are 10 different carton variants and correspondingly 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 formations. This means, for example, that 10 small AAA batteries have to be inserted into the cardboard box. The output with 4 lines per format is 850 products per minute. The highest output of format a) is up to 213 cartons per minute. A remarkable productivity.
The boxes have a tuck-in closure with additional glue flap, thus guaranteeing a tamper-evident closure. The practical packs can also be closed again after piece-by-piece removal.
This packaging solution is designed for recycling, as recyclability was already a priority during development. The batteries are packed stably and securely by the DIENST horizontal cartoner even in the pure carton packaging. The recess on the front of the carton acts as a viewing window through which the batteries are also visible from the outside. This means that plastic can be dispensed with completely for this packaging solution.
