Horizontal cartoner from DIENST for Canadian producer

For a packaging line by Schubert packaging Systems for a customer in Canada, DIENST Verpackungstechnik is supplying two horizontal cartoners with a single-cycle station and downstream conveyor belt.

Concentrated "Made in Europe" power: A combined line from the two packaging specialists in Germany (Gerhard Schubert GmbH / Dienst Verpackungstechnik GmbH) and one in Italy (PFM Packing Machinery S.p.a.) will be delivered to a food manufacturer in Canada in early 2023. The product to be packaged is sliced bread, which is sorted into tubular bags and cartoned for shipping. After a successful FAT, two DIENST horizontal cartoners will be delivered to Schubert Packaging Systems in Crailsheim.

Optimum process monitoring
The DIENST machine scores with various benefits that optimize the process. A traffic light sys-tem provides optimum monitoring of the machine: the green light changes to white on all lamps when one of the doors is opened. The red warning light, on the other hand, only lights up where an error message is received. This greatly simplifies problem detection and rectifica-tion. The pneumatic flap pressure system also guarantees reliable closure of the cartons, as the gluing process is completed even in the event of an emergency stop of the machine. High flexibility and fast format changeovers play an important role in large production runs. The integrated Intralox conveyor belt enables a simple and fast changeover of the product ejection by 90 degrees.

"We have been able to successfully implement several joint projects with DIENST over the past 15 years," says Thomas Niever, project manager at SPS. The packaging projects were all in the food sector: baked goods, confectionery and frozen products. "The cooperation with sales, project management, design and assembly works very well. The DIENST cartoners run stably in production, and our customers are very satisfied with the integration of the DIENST car-toners into the SCHUBERT PACKAGING SYSTEMS overall systems."
