In the future, the horizontal cartoner from the packaging specialist will pack up to 6000 tarte flambées per hour.DIENST convinces with short delivery time of three months despite supply bottlenecks.
The DIENST standard cartoner is known in the industry as the "pizza cartoner", P³ standing for "performance power for your pizza". However, it also reliably packs all other dimensionally stable products in cartons. This week, it will be set up in the production hall for frozen tarte flambée. The german Flammkuchen-Profi GmbH is expecting a major increase in productivity with the P³. In the future, up to 6000 cartons per hour are to run over the conveyor belt, and a new production hall is already being planned.
Standard cartoner with short delivery time It took only three months from the conclusion of the contract to delivery. "We are pleased that we were able to supply our customer so quickly despite current supply bottlenecks. This is a strong signal to the market; we are here!" says Henner Seibert, project manager at DIENST. "As a standard model, the P³ has the great advantage that many parts and components are in stock; in addition, the team is optimally coordinated."
Up to 160 cycles per minute, permanent fault monitoring and the servo drive are just three of many arguments that the horizontal cartoner brings to the table. A plus for operator ergonomics: the product is transported on one level with safe access for the operator.
Fresh tarte flambée at Interpack in Düsseldorf The good cooperation also lays the foundation for a collaboration at Interpack, which will take place in Düsseldorf, Germany, from May 4-10 next year. Instead of pizza, as in previous years, customers at the DIENST booth can look forward to freshly baked tarte flambée this time.

For a packaging line by Schubert packaging Systems for a customer in Canada, DIENST Verpackungstechnik is supplying two horizontal cartoners with a single-cycle station and downstream conveyor belt.
Concentrated "Made in Europe" power: A combined line from the two packaging specialists in Germany (Gerhard Schubert GmbH / Dienst Verpackungstechnik GmbH) and one in Italy (PFM Packing Machinery S.p.a.) will be delivered to a food manufacturer in Canada in early 2023. The product to be packaged is sliced bread, which is sorted into tubular bags and cartoned for shipping. After a successful FAT, two DIENST horizontal cartoners will be delivered to Schubert Packaging Systems in Crailsheim.
Optimum process monitoring The DIENST machine scores with various benefits that optimize the process. A traffic light sys-tem provides optimum monitoring of the machine: the green light changes to white on all lamps when one of the doors is opened. The red warning light, on the other hand, only lights up where an error message is received. This greatly simplifies problem detection and rectifica-tion. The pneumatic flap pressure system also guarantees reliable closure of the cartons, as the gluing process is completed even in the event of an emergency stop of the machine. High flexibility and fast format changeovers play an important role in large production runs. The integrated Intralox conveyor belt enables a simple and fast changeover of the product ejection by 90 degrees.
"We have been able to successfully implement several joint projects with DIENST over the past 15 years," says Thomas Niever, project manager at SPS. The packaging projects were all in the food sector: baked goods, confectionery and frozen products. "The cooperation with sales, project management, design and assembly works very well. The DIENST cartoners run stably in production, and our customers are very satisfied with the integration of the DIENST car-toners into the SCHUBERT PACKAGING SYSTEMS overall systems."

Thomas Raab has already accompanied the POLAR Group as a consultant since July 1, 2022. He will now join the company's management as Chief Financial Officer, effective November 1.
Effective November 1, 2022, the POLAR Group has been able to recruit Thomas Raab as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In addition to Finance with Controlling, Accounting, Financing, Taxes and Legal, he will assume responsibility for Human Resources, Purchasing and IT within the Management Board. In connection with the protective shield proceedings, he is responsible for managing the M&A process vis-à-vis advisors and investors, as well as coordinating with the administrator and the creditors' committee.
"We are pleased to now have Thomas Raab with us as CFO. In particular, his experience in transformations and in the field of mergers & acquisitions is a great support in our current situation," says Michael Wombacher, CEO. In August of this year, the Frankfurt District Court had initiated these court-supervised proceedings at the request of the family-owned company, which produces high-tech machinery for the printing and packaging industry. Delivery bottlenecks recently led to production declines and sales shifts and threatened the company's solvency.
"The Polar and Dienst companies have an impressive history and a lot of future potential. They stand for quality, high service availability and experienced employees among our customers. We can and want to use this as well as our good position in the market to continue to offer our customers the best possible solutions and innovations," said Thomas Raab. Raab was most recently CFO at Syntegon Technology in Crailsheim (formerly Bosch Packaging). He brings many years of international experience as CFO and CEO in medium-sized companies and in corporations such as Bosch Rexroth, Bosch and Siemens and will apply this experience to the Polar Group and its future direction.
